Why Open Pathways?

Therapy doesn’t change the past, but it can help you understand it and open pathways to a different future.
— Open Pathways Psychotherapy

Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision.  It isn’t just about qualifications. I strive to create a therapeutic space where you experience empathy, acceptance, respect, safety, collaboration and autonomy.

My experience spans being alongside people at some of life's most significant moments, additionally supporting professionals in demanding healthcare environments, enriching the understanding I bring to my therapeutic work.  It has given me a deep appreciation of the connection between physical health, emotional wellbeing and the challenges that life can bring.

There is no single path through difficulties in our lives.  Each person’s journey is unique, shaped by their experiences, “stories”, relationships and inner world.  I do not see my clients as needing to be “fixed” but often feeling stuck and unsure which pathway to take to achieve inner peace, acceptance and balance.

I believe each person has the capacity for growth, healing and meaningful change. When you feel ready, therapy can help you explore new pathways that reflect your own values, strengths and aspirations.

I work alongside you as you make sense of your experiences and begin to reconnect with yourself and your own sense of direction.  The shift in perspective and positive change will then naturally emerge, rather than being imposed on you.
